This weekend is full of fun for the whole family.On Saturday, visitors can walk around the grounds and view classic wooden and metal boats. They will also be able to talk with their owners and builders. Amateur-built boats will be featured in 2024 - both powered and sailboats. This is a very special year. Visit them and enjoy the best Whitefish Sandwiches in Wisconsin while visiting local merchants. Our annual Boathouse Sale features nautical treasures to decorate your home or boat, and helps support the Museum. Kids can also enjoy a variety of activities. Kids can enjoy crafts, games and boatbuilding. Kids and their parents can enjoy short, but free classic boat rides.The Door County Maritime Museum has a number of fascinating exhibits. One is the tug John Purves. The Jim Kress Maritime Lighthouse Tower, with its new exhibits and observatory deck is a real treat. Roberta Hegy will give a presentation at 2pm on amateur boatbuilding. She is a member from the Glacier Lakes Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society in Wisconsin. She will show you how she built a beautiful Glen-L Torpedo. This event is not to be missed. Be there at 4pm to see the Peninsula Symphonic Band performing A Salute to Coast Guard. Our fine community band will perform a patriotic program.Saturday evening offers even more. Watch a Sunset Cruise with Classic Boat Parade in Sturgeon Bay’s Inner Harbor at 5:00. Then, you can explore downtown Sturgeon Bay. This is a great way to end the day.Sunday is the end of the wild.
